The Secret Garden of Marrakech
Marrakech is one of the most attractive places in Morocco, and indeed, there are a lot of beautiful places to visit in this historic city, Marrakech it’s also known for a long time ago for its gardens, we can mention here Agdal gardens or Majorelle Gardens, but today we have chosen to tell you about the Secret Garden of Marrakech.
Unlike the other gardens known in Marrakech, the Secret Garden has a unique particularity; it's localized into the old city of Marrakech, in an old Riad (the appellation that we give to the ancient and traditionnel Moroccan houses) in the historical side of the city, precisely in the district of lmasin, the big majority of people don’t know about this garden since they was inaugurated in 2016, and also because the garden hides its magic behind the Riad walls, you can’t figure out of the Secret Garden beauty until you get inside the Riad.
The Riad was bought by the Italian resident “Laoro Milan”, and instead of turning it up to a guest house he thought of something more original, so the idea came up to him in 2003, but the place required a general reparation to reach to this point, and so it was, and it cost nearly 4.5 million of Euros.
The secret garden is in fact, a museum more than a simple garden, and it’s based on four elements, architecture, history, the art of gardening, and finally and the most important element is; water.
The secret garden is composed of two buildings that are different from each other, each one of which is self-contained Riad, and it contains exotic plants brought from all around the world to Marrakech.
