Morocco is an ancient country with deep traditions and a big civilization, one of the most important faces of Moroccan civilization is the architecture, and the Moroccan architects through the centuries have created an architectural style very special and distinguished from neighboring countries, and we can recognize it easily.

Moroccan Riads have become very known in the world recently for their architecture and their decorations which are really exceptional, but before going forward in the subject, let’s give a definition of the Moroccan Riad.

The Riad is the traditional Moroccan house, usually consisting of two or more floors, around a fountain. The Riad was the respectable home for prestigious citizens such as merchants and nobles or the state employees, and the Riads exist in particular in the Moroccan cities with ancient history, such as Marrakech, Rabat, Fez, Meknes, Tangier, etc…

Because of the change of Moroccan habits in the 20th century, and the halt of expansion of the old parts of Moroccan cities in the counter of the expansion of the modern districts, the new generations of Moroccan people leave the Riads to get new homes in apartments or villas.

However, many Moroccan Riads owners turned them into hosting homes for tourists who want to discover the beauty and the charm of the Moroccan lifestyle extended through centuries, also many rich people decide to buy Riads to get a new life, in the calm of the old Moroccan cities.

The particularity of Moroccan Riads is the inside of the house more than the outside, so from outside, you can never imagine the beauty that is waiting for you once you enter and cross the hallway!
