The Ifni Lake
In Atlas Mountains, and at an altitude of more than 2500 meters, settles one of the beautiful lakes in Morocco, Africa, and the world, The Lake Ifni, surrounded by mountains from all directions.
To reach this beautiful place, you should be patient and persistent, but the view that you get once you arrive is worthy of the try and hardship that you must face on your way.
The Ifni Lake is located between Marrakech and Ouarzazate, at the bosoms of Toubkal Mountain, the highest mountain in North Africa, and the second in Africa, behind the mountain of Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.
Lake Ifni is also considered to be the biggest mountain lake in Morocco.
To reach Ifni Lake you can go through the national road No. 9, connecting between Ouarzazate and Marrakech, and when you arrive in the semi-urban center "Akumi", a road sign indicating the tourists the road leading to the Tedili community after a distance of 70 km. after arriving in the village of Ifni, you have to know that the road is not paved.
So to continue the path, visitors are forced to deposit their cars in guarded parking next to a tourist shelter, to continue walking on foot or rent mules depending on the duration of the trip and the path or paths that the tourist wishes to follow, and it’s necessary for all visitors to be accompanied by a local guide, it’s quite not recommended to make this trip without guides.
