The Moroccan Tagine

Moroccan cuisine is quite rich, and there are a lot of dishes that distinguish it.  

One of these dishes is the Moroccan Tagine, unlike other famous dishes in Morocco like Pastilla, for example, Tagine is most popular, because it doesn’t refer to a special event, and it is present in almost all Moroccan houses from all social levels.

Moroccan Tagine is more famous than all the other Tagines in neighboring countries, we can also add that there is not only one kind of the Moroccan Tagine, but Dozens of kinds, depending on the regions.


The name of Tagine refers to the dish itself, but it refers also to the clay pot where the main dish is cooked and presented into it, it’s composed of two parts, the base of the Tagine and its cover.

There a lot of good recipes to prepare the Moroccan Tagine with different ingredients, such as; Tagine with Lamb, Tagine with meat and the dried plum and Almonds, Tagine of olives and vegetables, Tagine of chicken, Tagine of fish, etc…
